Bannister's first game in the 2007 season came in Round 10 against the Bulldogs. He played 12 games for the season and performed well in some important stopping roles on Brad Johnson, Shannon Grant and Chad Cornes. He was a safe user of the ball also last season as his disposals efficiency of 85% was one of the best at Carlton. He has spent four seasons with the Blues playing just 46 of a possible 88 games in that time.
