The son of former St Kilda coach Ken, Sam has the honour of being the first Lion to wear the No.3 since the retirement of club legend, Michael Voss. He was selected with pick 70 at the 2006 NAB AFL Draft and played nine games for the Suncoast Lions last season averaging 18 disposals and six tackles per game. Sheldon's 2007 season was interrupted due to a fracture to his leg halfway through the season.
