Garner's career has been ruined by injuries as he has undergone two knee reconstructions in as many years. He was initially taken with pick 27 at the 2004 NAB AFL Draft and has now been thrown another lifeline by the club as they have placed him on the rookie list after delisting him from the senior list at the end of 2007.
