Charman is Brisbane's No.1 ruckman but has been unable to complete a full season since 2003. He averaged over three clearances per game and despite missing five games for the season his 55 clearances ranked third of all ruckmen. He is a handy ruckman who has found a teammate with 26% of his hitouts since 2002 and in 2007 he combined with Nigel Lappin 27 times - making the pair the third best ruck-rover combination in the AFL. He is a player that relishes the contests as he has won 53% of his possessions from a contest throughout his career.
