Drummond missed the first seven rounds of the 2007 season but dominated upon his return. He became the Lions designated playmaker out of defence and between Rounds 10-15 ranked No.1 in the AFL in kicks, long kicks, effective kicks and rebound 50s. He suffered a knee injury in the latter stages of the season which kept him out of another three games towards the end of the season. His average of six rebound 50s per game ranked second in the competition and he finished with an AFL season-high of 14 in Round 12 against the Cats.
