McVeigh has made slow but steady progress since being drafted in at pick No.5 in the 2002 NAB AFL Draft. For the second year in a row he averaged career-high numbers in disposals, marks, clearances, inside 50s, contested possessions, uncontested possessions, goal assists and groundball-gets despite playing on the likes of Chris Judd, Daniel Kerr, Joel Corey, Cameron Bruce and Shane Crawford.
