Playfair joins Sydney after playing 52 games at Geelong in six seasons. The 2005 season was Playfair's best, playing 20 games and booting 17 goals as a forward. He moved to defence in 2006, and as a result he was in and out of the side. His kicking is his biggest worry and in 2004 he had the worst kicking efficiency of any key forward and the fourth-worst overall in the league, with not much improvement since.
