Houlihan is a hard-running midfielder who recorded the fastest time in the 3km time trial and finished in the top 4% in the beep test at the 2006 Draft Camp. He played 18 matches for East Fremantle in the WAFL averaging 16 disposals per game. Playing at Subiaco should suit Houlihan to a tee as he loves to run hard and find the ball in open space.
