Thomson will be given every chance to develop his game at WAFL level with the Eagles viewing him as a key position prospect. He played 19 matches for Claremont in the WAFL reserves last season and two in the seniors. He is an athletic type and he ranked in the top 10% for the beep test and 3km time trial at the 2006 NAB AFL Draft Camp.
