Spangher was restricted by a groin injury in 2006 and played just one WAFL reserves game for the entire season. He managed 11 games for East Fremantle in the WAFL last season averaging 13 disposals before his season ended in July as he was forced to undergo a shoulder reconstruction. As a key defensive player he will need plenty of time to develop in the WAFL, but his main concern in this early stage of his career is getting his body right and staying injury free.
