Kennedy was a part of the biggest trade of the off season returning to his home state in exchange for Chris Judd. He played 22 games in his two seasons at Carlton but failed to consolidate a spot in the forward-line. He was selected at centre-half forward at the 2005 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and has great endurance for his size, proving he could be valuable at playing that position on the wide open spaces of Subiaco.
