McKinley has been on the Eagles list for two seasons now but has managed just one AFL appearance in that time. Playing for East Perth in the 2007 WAFL competition he booted 46 goals in 20 matches following up on his return of 19 goals in 20 games in the 2006 season. He played as a key forward throughout his junior career but his height may restrict him to playing out of a forward pocket in the AFL.
