Armstrong played 43 matches for Melbourne over four seasons before he was delisted and picked up by West Coast via the rookie draft. He can play either small forward or in the midfield and has booted 18 goals in his 22 matches for West Coast over the past two seasons. When playing for Perth in the WAFL he has shown he can be a ball magnet through the midfield as he averaged 29 disposals in his seven WAFL games last season - an encouraging sign for the Eagles after the departure of Chris Judd and Ben Cousins during the off-season.
