Boyd was one of the positives in a disappointing 2007 season for the Bulldogs as he improved into the AFL's elite category of ball winners. He had a job most weeks on one of the opposition's leading midfielders, yet that didn't stop him from finding the ball as he ranked No.1 at the Bulldogs in disposals. Able to win the ball both in space or in dispute, he was one of his side's most dangerous at the stoppages and now provides great support to Scott West and Daniel Cross in the middle.
