It was a mixed bag for Howard in his first season at the Saints. He played at all levels - VFL seniors, VFL reserves and even two AFL games when the Saints were struggling with injuries. He is an outside midfielder who was recruited from Queensland at pick No.27 of the 2006 NAB AFL Draft.
