McQualter was a surprise delisting by the Saints in 2007, however he was given another chance via the Saints' rookie list for 2008. In three seasons since being St Kilda's first selection in the 2004 NAB AFL Draft, McQualter has managed 23 games of which six came last season. His disposals average has dropped slightly in the past two years and he has also averaged just 79 minutes game time which has made it tough for him.
