Richmond has rookie listed Howat again after delisted him after elevating him from the rookie list at the end of the 2006. He is an outside player who finished the 2007 H&A season with the third lowest contested possession rate of any player in the league to have over 50 possessions. He is a good user of the ball and can find plenty of it when given the opportunity highlighted by the fact he ranked sixth in disposals per minute at Richmond last season.
