Tambling was recruited to Richmond via the 2004 NAB AFL Draft after being a consistently high ball winning midfielder as a junior. In three seasons he has failed to live up to expectations picking up 20 or more disposals in a game only twice in 53 career AFL matches. In the past two seasons he has played 41 of a possible 44 games playing the majority of those games as a half-forward.
