Polak proved to be one of the recruits of 2007 after averaging career highs in disposals, marks, hardball-gets, inside 50s, rebound 50s and clearances. He was used in the ruck because of injuries in that area, winning the third-most hitouts at Richmond. His strength is in the air and reading the play. Polak grabbed the most marks from opposition kicks at Richmond last year and the sixth-most in the league (36) with his 23 in a contested situation ranking second in the AFL. He grabbed 32 contested marks in total - ranked second at Richmond and equal 11th in the competition. He finished seventh in the B&F, his first top-10 placing in a B&F.
