Farmer played in a variety of positions for Calder in the 2007 TAC Cup. He represented Vic Metro in 2007 and was unlucky to miss All-Australian selection. He showed in the 2007 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships he is more than capable playing down back where he read the play brilliantly, but also up forward where he was multiple goalkicker seven times in the TAC Cup.
