Forward of centre Pearce is a huge threat to opposition clubs highlighted by the fact he ranked No.1 in assists at Port Adelaide last season. He backed up his NAB Rising Star Award-winning season of 2006 with a similar set of numbers last year. As half-forward/midfielder he again averaged 20 disposals per match with his long kicking remaining a feature of his play. Pearce's last two years is proof of how hard recruiting can be. He was originally overlooked at the National Draft in 2004, eventually gaining his senior spot via the rookie list.
