Salopek has produced similar numbers in the last two seasons after taking four years to establish himself in the best 22. Injuries saw him miss nine games last season after playing 21 of 22 in 2006. He is yet to break into the above average category of ball winners, however is use of the ball is a highlight hitting the target more than 80% of the time with his handball being his main asset. Salopek was a high draft pick being selected at pick No.4 in the 2002 NAB AFL Draft.
