For his entire career Brogan has been Port Adelaide's back-up ruckman behind either Matthew Primus or Brendon Lade. Despite this he is one of the competition's best tap ruckmen, registering the third best hitout-to-advantage rate of any ruckmen in the 2007 H&A season. Throughout his career he has been a good user of the ball, but last year took this to another level hitting the target 88% of the time - ranked No.1 of all ruckmen. Brogan's problem has been his durability. He has missed 24 games in the past three seasons, and his game time has also decreased in that time.
