Adams, a ball magnet at junior level, began last season on the rookie list and after impressing at VFL level he was promoted to the Kangaroos' senior list for 2008. He made his AFL debut in Round 5 last season but was dropped the following week, spending the remainder of the season in the VFL. Adams captained the successful Vic Metro side at the 2006 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and was a dominant midfielder, able to win the ball either in dispute or in space.
