The Kangaroos will be ecstatic with McIntosh's gradual progression after he became one of the most influential ruckmen in the competition in 2007. He played all 25 games last season and developed his game significantly after playing 17 games the previous season. Not only strong in the ruck contest, McIntosh is one of the better ruckmen at finding the ball around the ground, averaging 16 disposals per game in 2007.
