Brown has the physique to be a powerful key position player, but in eight seasons in the AFL has failed to live up to expectations. He has played the second-most games of anyone drafted in 1999, yet was dropped for three games late last season. Since crossing to the Kangaroos from Fremantle in 2003 he has been used both up forward and down back which has made it difficult for him to settle.
