Throughout McGregor's career he has been used as a Mr Fix-it both in Adelaide's forward-line and defence. He was used mainly up forward in 2007 and booted 18 goals in nine games at an incredible accuracy of 90%. In between 2003-05 he finished in the top 10 of Adelaide's B&F with a personal best result of sixth in 2004. He was touted as a possible trade option for Adelaide in the off-season but nothing eventuated so he remains a Crow for the 2008 season.
