Sellar has really struggled to consolidate his spot in the Crows side. He has played just one game since being selected with the Crows first pick (14th overall) at the 2006 NAB AFL Draft. He struggled last season, playing just one game for the Crows, 11 for the Glenelg seniors and nine in the Glenelg reserves after showing some promising signs during the 2008 NAB Cup.
