Seller won the 2005 Kevin Sheehan medal for the best player in division one at the 2005 NAB AFL Under-16 Championships. He excelled at those championships as a ruckman showing his ability to continually cover plenty of territory. In 2006 he struggled with form and fitness but managed to see some senior action with Glenelg in the SANFL. Adelaide drafted Sellar with pick 14 at the 2006 NAB AFL Draft but he failed to impress at SANFL level last season playing nine games for Glenelg but never being named in the best.
