Hentschel played nine SANFL games last season, three in the reserves and six at senior level. He has not played an AFL game since he suffered a sickening knee injury in Round 21, 2006, a season when he was second on the Adelaide goalkicking with 42 goals for the season. He will be a vital addition to the Crows' forward-line this season after averaging over two goals per game in his last full season.
