Gill's start to the 2008 season was hampered by hamstring injuries, keeping him out of action until early May. He broke into the Adelaide side in Round 13 against the Lions and played eight of the final 10 H&A games of the season as well as the elimination final against Collingwood. He has averaged over one goal per game across his career but has let himself down recording a scoring accuracy under 50% in that time.
