Despite a slightly inconsistent 2007, Doughty has gone a long way to consolidating his spot as a regular in Adelaide's midfield over the past two seasons. He had a purple-patch in between Rounds 7-15 last season averaging 24 disposals, six marks, three clearances and four tackles in that time. Like many midfielders in the modern game, Doughty is used in heavy rotation off the bench spending an average of 71% of game-time on the ground across the season.
