Time to bounce back

Very disappointing game for us against the Hawks and we now have given up two games where we never turned up to play and never gave ourselves a chance of winning. It was a tough day at the office for all of us but even more so for myself with my shoulder dislocating twice during the game. It is very painful when it comes out but once it goes back in there is instant relief and the pain goes and I wouldn't be the first footballer to do it and to be fair there is a lot of players out there who play with a lot worse injuries and there are a lot worse people out there in the world than me so you won't see me whinging about my shoulder. It's a case of shut up and put up because the options are simple, have the operation and my season is over or play on and do my best. Not much to it really. I had scans on it on Monday and there is no damage being done when it keeps dislocating so I can continue on playing without doing anymore damage.

This weekend is a big game for us as a team. We need to get back on board as a unit and start playing for each other and start worrying about ourselves a bit more than the opposition and try and get our hunger, drive and passion back for the game. This is a massive game for us, as are most, but it can really get us going again if we can get back to playing for each other on the run home to the finals. Carlton have being playing some very attractive football and we will not be taking them likely but like I said this week is very much about trying to get our own house in order. For me personally it's my 150th and am really looking forward to it but to tell you the truth I really don't care. I just want to get on with the game and get the result that we need.

This week has being a bit hectic for me and one I have really enjoyed with all the activities surrounding World Youth Day and I have being busy stuck in a few things but have really enjoyed it and the atmosphere has being electric. I suppose in this country, unlike a lot of countries in Europe and other countries around the world, there isn't a real link with sport and religion but where I grew up, it is very much part and parcel and it's something that I still continue having close ties with and will continue for a long time to come. God has given each and every one of us talents and I'm very proud and lucky that mine has being to be able to play football and it doesn't matter what talent you have being given. each and every one of them is just as important as the next person's and we are all equals in a world that has become very materialistic.
