A disappointing week

A very disappointing game by us last weekend against Collingwood. A game where we really wanted to play well and put it up to Collingwood, but we never got into the game and left ourselves down by the way we played in the first half. We didn't get going till the last quarter where we started to take the game on but it was too little too late. We came in Monday and had a long meeting and wanted to move on as quick as we could because we got Hawthorn this weekend at the MCG. They are sitting second on the later and have being playing some great football.

The major issue to come out of the game of coarse was the suspension of Barry Hall and the decision by the club to suspend him indefinitely. There obviously has being a lot said about Barry and his off field life. We have chatted and talked to Barry a lot and we are here to support him and help him get through this hard time. The thing is that Barry is one of our leaders and hasn't being portraying this leadership on the field. He has a few issues that he is trying to deal with and it is obviously affecting his football. Barry is a fantastic guy and has had to put up with a lot as of late and the big thing for Barry is accepting his role and responsibility to the team. Barry is the same as you and I and is a very genuine guy and a bloke you would do anything for and love playing with because he would do anything for his mates. We are a much better team when Barry is in the team and let's hope he can get things right so we can see him back buzzing around very soon for us.

Barry came back training with us yesterday and there was clear excitement when Barry appeared and it was great to see him charge around. For me personally, I know when you are going through some issues or a tough time off field, the one place where everything seems to disappear and you feel at ease is on the training track and I'm sure the same is for Barry.

barry hall is a good footballer but obviously not as good a boxer. He may be good in a pub room brawl but he should make his mind up whether he wants to play football or boxing.
If he was that good a boxer he would be doing what mundine did and not taking his boxing skills onto the fooball field. He should also remember that there is always someone better and may pay that price off the field if he just wants us to think everyone is scared of him. i wish he would take on some black belt players

Everyone seems to have forgotten that a few years ago Barry could have had the Colemen Medal. Instead he played good unselfish team footy and came second to Frazer Gerhig. I for one would love to see him playing that type of footy again and wish him all the best.

There's no doubting Barry Hall's ability as an athlete. It would seem that through out his whole entire career to date, he has had to deal with alot of pressure. This is especially with opposition players, and also opposition fans. He is always under public scrutiny, and public pressure. I'm a great admirer and fan of Barry Hall. Hopefully he can stamp out his off field issues, and come back and play for the Swans, especially in the latter stages of the competition.

Now wait a moment... what is this? Some sort of team 'beat-up'. Barry Hall, Adam Goode - heck both are just dam frustrated by the lack of motivational attitood being displayed by their coach. Where is the fire and enthusiasm in any show by Roos... its time he looked at the poor results he is getting from an outstanding football team... and showed a little respect for his palyers by giving them the leash - moving them into the battle... not removing them from it for his precious "end
