Great to be back

We had a great win last weekend against a team who had some good games against some form teams and we really set ourselves for a tough, hard game. What eventuated was that Richmond, to be fair, didn't turn up to play and we got them on an off day. Honestly I don't think they are as poor as they played against us last weekend. For myself it was fantastic to be back playing after dislocating my left knee a few weeks beforehand. I had a great hit-out and got some valuable match fitness into me which will be very important for this week when we take on West Coast on the big ground of Subiaco. I felt very fresh and free and have pulled up fantastic from the game.

As we normally do, we flew to Perth a few days earlier than we would if we were flying anywhere else. The reason being is that we don't like to fly and train on the same day so we flew out of Sydney on Wednesday night and after a few hours delay and a few games of cards we were on our way. Mickey O, Goodsey and myself managed to get upgrades and had first-class seats which made the flight a lot easier and believe you me we let the boys know how good it was when we landed in Perth. We got in at 10pm Perth time and went straight to the hotel to bed.

Thursday morning we went for a training session at Subiaco under the watchful eye of some West Coast people and had a very productive session. The thing about Subi is that it's extremely long and very different to the SCG so your kicks fall a lot shorter at Subi than they would at home and it was great to get that training session to just get a better feel for the ground.

West Coast had came up against a red-hot Collingwood team last week and was beaten very comprehensively. The Eagles will be very disappointed with the result and will want to fix it on Saturday night. They play Subiaco very well and we can't take them lightly. They still have a lot of premiership players on their team and will be very hard to beat at Subi. Having said that we are playing some hard disciplined football and have a good run of wins under our belt and will be looking to continue on with our form come Saturday against West Coast in a hostile arena.
