Fingers crossed for this week

What a fantastic win it was at the weekend. We started the game very brightly and it was a very open game with eight goals to six being scored in the first quarter. The next three were very tight and tough and it was a real hard, gutsy win by the boys. In the last quarter Port Adelaide were all over us and it was our pressure and coolness that got us over the line in the end and with some great efforts from our young players in Jarred Moore and Tim Schmidt. I myself was out injured after my hectic week before and I went and watched the game at the Club Swans in Kings Cross where the athmosphere was electric and there was a great buzz around after.

This weekend we play Richmond at the SCG on Sunday. They had a massive win last weekend and have improved a lot in their contested possession and have become a very one-on-one team now and it looks to be working for them. As for myself I jogged on Monday and got through great so now I have to wait until Friday to see if I can get through training without a hiccup and I should be good to go for Sunday. It's been a big two weeks where I have practically lived in the club getting physio treatment, doing rehabilitation work which includes a lot of leg weights, swimming, boxing and trying to keep my condition up while I'm out. This is one of the hardest things to keep on top of when you are injured, you can't train but you have to try and keep your fitness up by doing so much more and for so much longer. It really isn't much fun being out injured, it's challenging mentally as well as physically but to be fair I've had a few too many injuries in the past year and just let's hope that this is the end of it and I can get a good run of games under my belt now, starting with Richmond this weekend.
