Sponsorship money is the hardest thing to get at the moment.
Melbourne rejected the money they were getting and I don't even know if EnergyWatch has any money anyway.
It was the worst rant of a person on Facebook that I've ever seen.
Due diligence should be done in football clubs when considering big-money offers.
The head of EnergyWatch was a barracker for the Dogs, not even paid up, but was keen to go with them.
They did their checks though and found he was a bit shaky so they passed.
Now Melbourne have to look for another sponsor.
Best of luck with that.
Maybe
they could go to the league and ask them to cut the wages of Karmichael
Hunt and Israel Folau and give the Demons $1 million a year.
These two 'footballers' are not earning their keep and will never be up to standard as league players.
Folau
will just sit there embarrassing himself and his family, racking up the
money and in three years' time go back to rugby league at 26 years of
age in the prime of his life with a very healthy bank account.
Hunt on the other hand can't be hidden.
He can't play back because he loses his man and he can't play forward because he can't present.
They put him in the middle to tackle and get tough centre breaks but he had only one tackle on the weekend.
If you're going to be a serious footy club you have to pick your players on merit not on publicity stunts.
Hunt and Folau haven't deserved a game of football.
Hunt's been playing for two-and-a-half years now and hasn't earned a match.
Folau is in his second season of footy and doesn't deserve one either, even at a lower standard.
Let's get real. Pick people on form not for publicity stunts.
All I know is this year we're going to have two bad games a week, the ones that involve Gold Coast GWS.
We knew this was likely to be the case beforehand but it's not going to help.
